President Adama Barrow officially launched the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSS) at a graduation ceremony and swearing-in ceremony at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo. The scheme marks the first batch of the country’s National Youth Service graduates program, and is implemented for the first time in the Gambia government. The programme, funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP), targets 100 University of The Gambia graduates. Barrow emphasized the scheme’s commitment to supporting the employability and development of the youths of The Gambia. The initiative is part of the government’s commitment to supporting the youths of The Gambia.
