Guinea-Bissau on Thursday celebrated its 50th anniversary of independence and the founding of its armed forces, attended by leaders from Nigeria, Gambia, Congo, Comoros, and Portugal. The event included a civil and military parade, honoring the birth of independence hero Amilcar Cabral, who died in 1973. President Umaru Sissoco paid tribute to those who contributed to the country’s independence, highlighting the importance of recognizing and celebrating these milestones.
