Driving Change: Gambia’s Commitment to 365 Kilometers of New Roads

Actualité

President Adama Barrow has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to infrastructural development in Gambia, stating they are working on constructing 365 kilometers of roads nationwide. Despite limited resources, the government is fully funding all major roads, with half of the roads already within Kombo Lamin. Barrow addressed concerns raised by residents about bad roads and urged Gambian youth to venture into businesses, as businesses in the country are predominantly dominated by foreigners. His National Development Plan (NDP) will guide the government towards speedy court cases, improving public service delivery, tracking worker performance, and digitalizing civil services. The NDP will bring in micro-economic management aimed at benefiting Gambians and improving businesses and the economy, as well as touch the country’s fisheries sector. Ebrima Sillah, the minister of Works and Infrastructure, responded to community demands, noting that the Mandinary-Lamin Road will affect many compounds within the area.
