The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is getting ready to have their 15th Islamic Summit Conference on May 4-5 in Banjul, Gambia. It’s going to be a big deal!
The theme for this summit is all about ‘Enhancing Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development’. They’re going to talk about a bunch of important stuff like the Palestinian question, youth, women, family, Islamophobia, climate change, and Muslim minorities in non-member states.
Before the big summit, there will be a preparatory meeting on April 30 and May 1. Senior OIC officials will talk about the documents for the session and give a report to the Council of Foreign Ministers. They’ll discuss political issues in the Islamic world, like the Palestinian cause, as well as economic, humanitarian, social, and cultural issues.
During the summit, the OIC secretary-general will share a report on all the activities, programs, and projects the organization has been working on since the last summit. They’ll also issue a final communique with their positions on different issues, a resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the Banjul Declaration.
