After the long procession through WCR, the President arrived in Abuko where he was received by officials of the Kanifing Municipality. He greeted the line of officials before continuing through Kanifing, waving to crowds that lined the streets. At Tallinding, he was welcomed by the Speaker of the National Assembly and leader of the APRC, Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta, and his executive. The motorcade then moved through Westfield, where supporters staged a final show of force, before proceeding to Denton Bridge for the official handover ceremony and finally to State House in Banjul. President Barrow told reporters during the tour that he is confident Gambians will continue to trust his leadership because of his infrastructural development agenda, while urging the opposition to join him in building the country. The tour, which is a constitutional requirement, comes less than two months before the December 5, 2026 presidential election, and has drawn criticism from the opposition who accuse the President of turning it into a campaign platform.
